Support Esports Growth in California Schools

We are the Pacific Esports League, a charity nonprofit organization based in San Jose, California that aims to inspire High School and College students to improve themselves through their passion for video games. Using a structured competitive environment, we let students learn teamwork skills as they compete for opportunities to win scholarships. Additionally, students engage with career-based programs to explore new fields that exist through their passion for games, such as social media management and public relations.

Through PEL, we hope to use the excitement and passion that students show for games and turn it into something positive that gives these students new college and career opportunities.

Since 2020, we have hosted tournaments that have provided over $6,000 in scholarships to students across the state and reached over 250 high schools/colleges. We additionally offer two career programs available to all students of California that focus on learning broadcast fundamentals and event organizing. We aim to continue to support the state through programs designed to provide more scholarships for esports and create equipment funds to ensure all students get the opportunity to compete.

Our most recent competitive 2023 Spring Season drew in over 30 teams who competed for a spot in the Finals, the California Clash.

The California Clash is the peak of our competitive Spring 2023 Season, pitting the top scholastic esports teams from NorCal and SoCal against each other. It unites players from across the state and different high schools and colleges. The finals feature teams from CSU Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, and Irvington High School.

While the event exists virtually due to cost, with teams playing the match online, our broadcast is held in person to create the best quality stream possible to showcase the talents of our students. The previous California Clash was our first major in-person broadcast and was a massive success in terms of production quality and providing an educational experience for our volunteers. In fact, it generated 34.6K total minutes watched and 1.5K live views across two days. It is our goal to surpass those numbers with this upcoming event but we are running into financial roadblocks.

As it stands, we do not have the funds to host an in-person broadcast and would have to go into debt in order to showcase the amazing talents of our finalists. That is why we have come to gofundme for help. In order to not only host the best finals we can, but also continue to grow the opportunities for students in California, we need your help raising funds.
